Another beautiful castle, a few miles away from the castle of Bracciano, is Castel Giuliano. The castle of Castel Giuliano, is owned by the Marquises Patrizi Montori and was built in the 1500s. The sprawling gardens surrounding the castle’s premises boast a collection of over 500 varieties of antique and modern roses. For a special view of their wholesome splendor and of the enchantment of the palace make sure you don’t miss visiting Castel Giuliano during the “Festival delle Rose” which occurs around the third weekend of May. The event includes special guided tours of the premises, public stands of some of the most reknowned greenhouse cultivators, and sale of local delicacies and produce.
